The city of Tomar is known as the Templars' city, due to the knights of the Templar Order and all the heritage present in the place.

During the year some events take place, like the Festival Bons Sons (August), Festa Templária (May), Living Statues (September) and the Festa dos Tabuleiros that occurs every 4 years.

Besides the events, the city has to offer several monuments such as the Convent of Christ, the Castle of Tomar, Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, National Forest of Sete Montes, São Francisco Convent, the Synagogue and the Jewry of Tomar, the Republic Square Corredoura, Mouchão Park, among others...

During the warmer months it is also possible to enjoy the several fluvial beaches that exist in the outskirts of the city.
